Introduction to Sculpting the head
Four consecutive afternoons May 15-18

1:00pm - 4:30pm each day
Work in a slightly smaller than life size with low fire clay you will learn to sculpt a face.
Starting with basics, learn to make a head shape that won’t collapse
Work in low fire clay with engobes and some underglazes.
Learn placement of the features and learn to use tools and techniques to make the features
Discuss and practice some facial expressions
30 lbs of clay available
Max of 6 in the class
It's hard, so we'll be kind to ourselves as we learn.
This class is $235
No glazing in this class. It is about practice and learning to sculpt a face and head, not necessarily finishing it in this class. If you finish it and want it bisque fired, I’m happy to do that when it’s dry.
design, build & personalize a garden Sculpture
Sculpting with stoneware, you will make parts that stack like beads to form a vertical sculpture.
You will work toward your own style, using hand building methods I will teach you and using special tools (plaster molds, etc.) that I’ll supply.
You will learn hand building skills that will prepare you for many other clay ideas and projects.
Your work will be fired in a reduction firing to cone 10, about 2350 degrees using a palette of my glazes.
Maximum of 7 in the class, Must have 6 for class to go.

Wet clay work on June 21, 22 & 23.
Teaching and work Fri-Sun Afternoons, 1pm-5pm
Independent work time in studio - 10am-12pm on Sat & Sun if you wish to do so.
Glaze your work on July 6, Saturday 9am-5pm, ALL day with lunch break of 1 hour.
Pick Up & Stack TBD with class. No earlier than July 1

Independent work time in my studio -10am-12pm on that Sat & Sun if you wish to do so.
Glaze your work on July 7, Sunday 9am-5pm, ALL day with lunch break of 1 hour.
Pick Up & Stack time TBD with class. No earlier than July 11
Totem Classes total $430.
(Class & studio time $375, Glazes & Firing $35, & Totem base with pole cut to length $20).
How to reserve a spot in my classes:
Email me with the class you wish. I will reply in the order of emails received to let you know if there’s a spot available. If there is still room in the class, you will mail me a check for the full amount. Make it out to Willi Eggerman. Mail to: Willi Eggerman, 1815 Orchard Ave. Boulder CO 80304. Please send along with with your full name, address, phone number, & the class session you are wanting in. I will hold spots for those who email and then send their checks promptly. I ‘ll add people after the total class number to a wait list.
A class will not go forward without 6 students and my studio can not accommodate more than 7. Thanks for taking a look at the classes I’m offering. I hope one works for your enjoyment and growth in working with clay.
You may cancel up to 14 days prior to the start of the class and receive a full refund, less $25 for administrative time. To cancel, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Cancellations less than 14 days prior to the start date will not be refunded without a replacement student. Every effort will be made to fill the spot from a wait list.
In the event I have to cancel a class, you will be notified prior to the start date and will be issued a full refund.
